Plantar fasciitis causes pain on the bottom of the foot, around the heel and arch, typically worst with the first steps after sleeping or resting. The usual first steps are rest, ice, supportive shoes or insoles and gentle stretching. Massage therapy isn't a replacement for those; at W11 Therapy in South Granville, CCHPBC-licensed RMTs add hands-on work for the soles of the feet, the calves and the lower legs.
See your doctor if heel pain is severe, getting worse, not improving after two weeks of self-care, or comes with tingling or numbness - or if you have diabetes and foot pain.
Heel and foot sessions are standard massage therapy sessions with CCHPBC-licensed RMTs. We direct bill Sun Life, Manulife, Pacific Blue Cross, Green Shield, Canada Life and ICBC when your plan allows it. Related: sports massage.
